Breezy Heat Adventure

Shirt: LC by Lauren Conrad, Kohls
Skirt: Jones New York Sport (awhile ago)
Flats: American Eagle
Pink Bracelet and Belt: Forever 21
Blue Bracelet: H&M
Soundtrack: Somehow by Joss Stone

This outfit was from before our into the 100 degree heat wave. It was probably like 98 but I loved this look. Since I know I love the blue and white color combo I threw in some new little colors and was comfortable. Long skirts seem to make breezes a bit more fun and that helps when the heat is making its presence so wonderfully known. The hair has to be up in heat for me and a loose high bun is the best for getting it up but not being to heavy.
I have to tell you that having 107 and 109 highs here this weekend made me want to not go anywhere and so I lived in my bikini and a tank top and shorts. Yesterday was work and picking up the best friend from the airport (hence no post) and more heat. For some reason the heat makes me not want to take pictures. Perhaps its the whole having to move thing.

Safari Adventure

Shirt and headband: Forever 21
Tank top, shorts, sandals: American Eagle
Shell bracelet: self-made
Bracelet: H&M
Soundtrack: Bloodstream (Vampire Diaries Remix) by Stateless

Goodness, friends, I'm amazed that I'm able to squeeze a post in! I'm running on the fumes of 3 and a half hours of sleep from jumping (ok, ok, driving) from set to set. But this outfit just begged sharing. I love a mulitude of animals but I have my favorites; dolphins, giraffes, cheetahs, and sea otters being some of those faves. So awhile ago, my sister told me they had a giraffe shirt. Once she showed me a picture, I was on a mission. It took me forever but I found one and it's perfect. So getting stuff done in the heat in a cool giraffe shirt makes getting things done easier for some reason. Maybe not but I felt like it did and that's good enough for me.
By the way, Bloodstream is one of my songs that I'm in love with is currently in my "Sleepy Time" playlist. Yes, I have a playlist for right before bed winding down songs, not because I need them to wind down, it's just nice. While its not the most normal of lyrics (curious now, I know...) before bed I can't get enough. So sweet dreams for me as this song flows through my bloodstream...(see what I did there? cleverrrr, just a little) Let's hope I don't read this post later, when under normal hours of sleep, and think whattt?!?

Shall We Go Shopping?

For the latest installment of potential shopping let's take a look at the Mad Men collection from Banana Republic. While I haven't yet watched the show (I know, shocker! I will eventually) you know my love of 60's fashion. So of course I will have loads of fun just trying these on. On to my favorite looks!
Most favorite I think. Of course it is, it happens to be one of the pricier dresses at $150.

Statement jacket you can't go wrong with-$175

 Comfort and chic, perfect-$89.50

I adore this color and the bow

Ladylike, without having to try-$130

All right I'll admit I'm not going to spend that much on any of these. Have to keep my priorities straight. But I wish I could. I'm also hoping they go on sale eventually but that too might be wishful thinking. But 60's fashion as inspiration is, most, of the time a great basis. So for those of you who are jumping in your cars and driving straight to the store, cheers! And for those of you like me, we'll just have to get creative in finding these type of looks. Cheers for us too!

Milkmaid Braid and Flowers Adventure

Dress, belt, bracelets: H&M
Lucky you necklace and sandals: American Eagle
Nail Polish: Revlon in Femme Petale and Sally Hansen in Fuschia Shock Crackle

This was a running around to meet with friends, then shop for the costumes for the film, then meet for a tapas dinner later day. Whew, busy! But that's the norm, not the tapas part. I recommend squid cooked in it's own ink, so tasty! It's a lovely, heavy on the garlic, meal (one of my favorites, I must like to repel people from me). So it is recommended to have before any vampire battles you might undertake and not for any dates (unless of course the date is awful, then by all means dive in!)

Tried milkmaid braids for the first time, but by the time these pictures were taken it had been a busy day so they were a little unkempt. For some reason I think those braids might show better in blond hair. I'm just relieved they didn't pop out of my head like the thick rope that it looked like the first time I tried it. I took those out right away, they were a bit scary. Don't want to double repel people from me. Garlic is sufficient.

The best part is my cute dinosaur egg nails! I've finally had a chance to do crackle/shatter/whatever nails. I went with a light pink under and the fuscia on top. They remind me of dinosaur eggs. Only my eggs were pink and as soon as they were nice and ripe, little cute pink crackled dinosaurs would pop out! I would name them all and they would follow me around and be cute and cuddly like Norbert the dragon was for Hagrid. Note to self, find miniature cute dinosaur to be my adorable pet.

Muppet Momentum

Slowly but surely my love of the Muppets is starting to spread to others! I'd like to take credit but alas, I can't. So let's take a look at the latest tid-bits shall we?
The Muppet Show Theme Song revamped! I'll admit that its hard to beat the original but this is fun. I'm sure all the music from the album will be. And any excuse for a Muppet related break is a good one, right? Now for fashion: Muppet nail polish. Go see the colors! As if nail polish names and colors aren't fun enough now they are Muppet enhanced. I just might even get one of the glittery ones and I never do glitter and sparkly. But when is a better time to try I suppose. Yayyyyyy! (imagine that accompanied with arms waving wildly in the air)

Casual Adventure

This one was over-exposed but I played around and I really liked the effect!
Shirt, Tank top, skirt, espadrilles: American Eagle
Necklace: Modcloth
Belt: An old tie from my dad
Bracelets: H&M
Flower: Self-made
Soundtrack: Back Where I Came From-The Feeling

Happy Monday! I enjoyed this one because I did not work (shhh no telling anyone) I went on a wonderful hike and dinner with my fabulous sisters. Yay sister time! So I'm tired and happy.

I was really happy during these pictures too because I was on my way to visit a good friend. I've been so busy and neglecting some other aspects of my life, oops! So this was my it's hot-but-cooling-a-bit-for-the-night combo. You saw of course, dear readers, the addition of soundtrack information under the clothes info. I am constantly listening to music and I thought I should share that too! Especially as it sometimes can affect my choice of fashion for the day. Hope you had a wonderful start of the week!

Let's Go Fantasy Shopping!

Time to go shopping! The lookbook for Missoni for Target has come out and while I don't think it's exactly my style I picked my favorites.

I might get the tights.

I really like these pj's.

These remind me of the 60's. We all know I can't resist that.
All pictures from Fashionista

This is an extensive line with men's and children's looks as well as dishware and school supplies. Fun! I'm not sure the price points on these but it's definitely worth a look. Go here for the full lookbook. Have fun shopping!

Irish Dancing Goodness

I've had my eye on this film for quite awhile, just waiting for a place I can go see it. I've always wanted to learn this style of dancing (must be my Irish roots popping up) but I haven't the time right now. So instead, I will live vicariously through the movie until I can actually dance. I didn't know about the "Irish Dancing Model" but I think it's wonderful and will hopefully bring more attention to this (sure to be) little gem! What do you think?

My summer has been jam packed with so many different projects I have had no time for vacations. While this might be a problem for some (I love where I live) I was able to squeeze in one day of beach time. Beach time=mini-vacation time for me. It's where I relax and regenerate. Alright, if I'm completely honest I did do a little bit of work, but that's ok. All this hard work will pay off, right? ...right? I hope you all have been able to find some vacation time!

Parched Adventures

Tank, Shoes: American Eagle
Skirt: Hollister
Necklace: H&M
Necklace as bracelet: gift from best friend
Belt: no idea
Water Bottle: Target

What to do when its hot and the internet is being oddly spotty and you need to work? Go to the library of course. Air-conditioning! (said in a sing-song voice, it's that much better) I've been in the throes of script writing. Throes: any violent convulsion or struggle. Eat, sleep, dream script. Any time I have a break I work. So fashion means comfort and things that won't slide off accidentally while I'm deeply immersed in a scene. (It could happen) And a must for any hot day is a water bottle, throw a tea bag in and gives water some flavor too. If it happens to be green tea, it happens to be healthy. Bonus!

Flowery Summer Night Wedding Adventure

Dress: LC by Lauren Conrad, Kohl's
Shoes: Modcloth
Bracelet: H&M
Necklace: American Eagle

I wore this dress to my good friend's wedding but was in such a rush all day I had no time to photograph it. So I recreated it for church, hair and everything, and then the lighting outside was not the best. Oh well. I normally wear this dress with a belt, but without it, it feels more Grecian. For some reason, I felt the Grecian vibe when running around trying to get ready, including the braid and twists in my hair. (Because, per usual, I decided to get loads of things done and I had to be there early to help so I left getting ready with less time than I should) I knew it was a success when complete strangers came over to talk about the dress and mostly about my hair. I was also a bit proud that I mixed prints, flowers and stripes (in my bracelet). I never do that but it worked with this outfit. It was a pretty and fun wedding made even better by the radiant happiness of the bride. Nothing beats seeing your loved ones happy! Happy weekend everyone!

Fashion Fun Music

Hi! The daily fashion is coming, promise! I've been super busy and working hard hard hard. Yay! So instead enjoy this video with fun bright summer fashion. (I won't think fall fashion yet, I won't!) Love the swimsuits (stripes) and outfits (bright colors), makeup (volume, and waves, and mini beehives) and hair. It's got a retro yet modern feel, perfect combo! The song is fun and catchy but I have to admit I know nothing about this artist yet. She's off to a good start in my book! Enjoy

Makeup Storage Resourcefulness

In thinking about what to talk about today (I spent all day on set and now home to work on another exciting project, no work never ends) I came across this genius idea. Let's make a small disclaimer that I was stalling a bit from my second project, my needed some distractions. Anyways, this is brilliant.
Please follow the link: Makeup Board
Laura goes through step by step a how to make it tutorial. Maybe you are thinking you have too much makeup, or not enough, to fill a board. Well it can be a jewelry board, etc. and so on as far as your creativity and inspiration will take it. Any ideas?

Shoe Craving

Being that it's officially August and the back to school ads have appeared fashion tends to look forward to fall. But I still can't do it. I still want to bask in breezy dresses and cooling shorts and tanks. It might not help that it is hot and long sleeves and warm clothes make me feel hot just thinking about them. So these are shoes that I want for summer! They are by Rocket Dog and have that perfect summer heel feel about them. Other than the fact that they might get dirty and will require upkeep I can't see anything not to want about them. I'm determined to get them before the summer is out! Thoughts?
