2012 Highlights

Just some of my favorites from 2012. It's been a tough year but with bright spots like new friends, jobs, and my first produced film as writer and costume designer. But I'm very ready to say goodbye and hello to the new year!

P.S. I tried to keep it to 12 pictures. Nope...

Christmas Adventure

Tights-I think H&M?
Shoes-Christian Siriano for Payless
Necklace & Ring-H&M
Nails-Red with Christmas trees on my ring fingers

Hello dear readers! I'm back. Another unintentional hiatus due to being busy all the time with hardly any sleep. There gets to be a point when sleep becomes top priority. After all, I'm not in college anymore.
Christmas seemed to come out of nowhere for me. Freshly started my break with a fun holiday party (didn't have time for those pictures, sorry) in which I lost my voice. Then I had to sing a duet at church the next night to O Holy Night, the beautiful but notoriously difficult song. I spent Christmas eve nursing my throat but knowing that I'd be confident in this dress no matter what. Loved the flair and floral details and can't wait to wear it again.

Polka Dots and Cutout Adventure

Dress: Cotton On
Belt: Gift
Bracelets: H&M
Tights: Gift
Rings: Self-made
Nails: Nightmare Before Christmas
Hair: Hight Ballerina Bun

Hello, dear readers! I have not dropped off the face of the earth. Instead, I just had technical difficulties and no time to figure it out. I hope I have finally figured it out. As a result, I'm super backed up on outfit posts! Please excuse that I have been hoarding them unintentionally.
This was for a day of costuming work (my favorite of course). It was also before it got too cold for me to pull this off. I say embrace what you have to work with, weather wise.
Thanks for reading!

Function Over Fashion

Hello, dear readers! Thanks for bearing with my sparse posting! I'll figure out this picture situation soon. I've been filming a lot on location. Sometimes days at a time on locations with no cell phone reception or internet. It can be nice, actually. In rainy conditions and dirt and cold it can be smarter to dress for warmth and dirt over fashion. So here is a peek into my daily life on Instagram. My new boots to get me through filming in the elements. Come follow stylishadventures22

Music Monday (Holiday Edition)

Happy December, dear readers! It's the time of lights, joy, giving, cold weather to bundle up in, love...
So it's a time of happiness for me. I fully indulge in the music of the season so why wouldn't I on the blog as well? Let's sing and dance!

Music Monday

I apologize for the lack of posts last week. There have been technical difficulties due to running out of space for pictures. Not sure that I've figured it out. So any suggestions for me, dear readers? I could really use your help. And now for some music...

Music Monday

Happy Monday, dear readers! I'm excited about this week because, not only is it Thanksgiving, but I have some days off! And today's song is exactly what I'm going to be doing: catching my breath. It's been a whirlwind past couple of weeks with highs and lows on the show. I'm going to catch my breath, re-energize and get ready for the next block of episodes to shoot. And of course I will be so so thankful for this job! What are your plans?
...Also, this is fantastic song that I predict will be sung a lot in my car.

Fall Peplum Adventure

Shorts-LC by Lauren Conrad, Kohl's
Shoes, Ring, Flowers, & Bracelet-H&M
Necklace-American Eagle
Hair-Braid around the crown, then pinned. Gather all the rest of the hair into a low braid. Then add flowers.

Well, dear readers, I started a new costuming gig last week. And this was for the first day on set. I was excited and so grateful! (Still am grateful and loving it!) First day was a bit warm so I took the opportunity for leather shorts. Then add peplum and flowers and done. A look that looks put together and keeps me cool. Not to mention the fact that I owned some fall trends while I was at it. I win. In my mind, I win a lot.

Lace and Lunch Adventure

Shirt, Long Necklace, & Shoes-American Eagle
Bracelets-H&M, Asos
London Tower Necklace-Forever 21
Pink and purple bracelets c/o Blessed Charm
Headband-Gap Kids

A day off lunch with the Bestest friend means wear a cute skirt. What? That's not a rule? Maybe a guideline. The modern version of dressing up for going to lunch.
The Blessed Charm bracelets are wonderfully simple by the way. They make a simple statement and on top of that part of the proceeds go to charity. Cute and a good cause! You can find the bracelets here and they are on sale. Bonus.

Girly Star Wars Adventure

Shirt & Shoes-Target
Skirt-Forever 21
Bracelets & Purse-H&M

Sometimes I have to combine my inner nerd with some feminine fashion. It's like part nerd with part fashion. One could call me a fashion nerd as well. So does that make me all nerd? Perhaps. But shhh we won't broadcast that. I like to surprise people with my nerd.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!

Forgotten Summer Adventure

Dress & Shoes-Target
Tank top & Bracelets-H&M
Necklace-American Eagle
Hair-Two tiny braids then french braid like normal. Roll the end of the braid into itself and pin
Nails-Lady bugs

Forgot about these. The day of I-have-to-go-to-work-but-it's-uncomfortably-warm-and-in-tight-spaces-it's-even-worse. Take one part good old dress that you love and one part see-through layered tank and one part cute hair and it equals a good get through the day no matter what happens outfit. I like the fact that the dress still shows under since it breaks up the black. But mostly I love the hair.

P.S. Thanks Jessica for taking these quick photos for me in between shooting!

Fall Heat Adventure

Belt & Sunnies-H&M
Hair-twisted then pinned up around my head

Even though I'd love to be snuggling in sweaters and boots the weather has other plans. So I give in. Now for the big question: what am I holding in that last picture? Why an automatic sander of course. It was a gift from family friends who discovered that I can (and happily do, if it is needed) build things. You know, using wood, hammers, and saws. And now a sander. I received this thoughtful gift after church one Sunday. Just proves that a girl can be well-rounded; fashionable and resourceful. Another words, don't let the girly appearance fool you, I can build things...and take you on the sports fields. All while being sweet about everything.
